Sometimes, it’s helpful to have a friend who knows how to solve a problem.

That’s exactly what Count Almaviva finds out when he enlists local barber Figaro to help him win the heart of the clever and kind-hearted Rosina in this comic masterpiece. Almaviva faces several challenges, not the least of which is that Rosina’s controlling guardian, Bartolo, would rather marry her himself. Figaro is up to the task, though, of thwarting Bartolo’s plans and ensuring that Rosina has a choice in her own future.

Whimsy and wit meet in this sparkling production which has been re-imagined in the early 20th century and features some of opera’s brightest young stars. The score of Il Barbiere di Siviglia delights with some of opera’s most beloved melodies, including the famous overture and Figaro’s well-known aria “Largo al factotum”. Rossini’s classic tale of misdirection and subterfuge will both enchant and entrance you!
