Rigoletto

by Giuseppe Verdi

7:30 pm September 14 and 21, 2018

Freede Little Theatre
Civic Center Music Hall

Verdi’s famously dark tale of power and sacrifice tells the story of a cursed father’s efforts to protect his beloved daughter from the faithless but charming man whom she loves.  Touching on modern issues of privilege and influence, this fast-paced opera rings as true today as it did when it premiered more than 160 years ago. Rigoletto features vivid characters singing some of Verdi’s most captivating melodies, including the Duke’s “La donna è mobile”.  Painted Sky Opera once again brings grand opera to the stage of the Freede Little Theatre with this engaging production, featuring award-winning Oklahoma City tenor J. Warren Mitchell as the Duke.
